DOVNEXUS Labs

Things we are trying that are not products yet.

Prototypes, technology demos and experiments. Some become products, most do not, and that is the point — this is where we find out cheaply.

Nothing on this page is a commitment. Experiments are published when they are interesting, and archived when they stop being interesting.

AI Experiments

AI ExperimentsPaused

Asking an ERP a question in plain language

"Which customers owe me more than 60 days?" — typed, not built in a report designer.

What came of it

Paused. Accuracy was fine, but people would not trust a number they could not trace to a query. We are rebuilding it so it shows the query it ran.

AI ExperimentsBecame a product

Learning an invoice layout from one correction

Could a model generalise a supplier's invoice layout after a human fixed exactly one document, instead of needing a labelled set?

What came of it

Yes, for fixed-template suppliers — which is most of them. Held for a future product; not shipped yet.

Game Mechanics

Streets that feel busy without simulating a crowd

Rendering the impression of footfall from the demand simulation, without paying to path-find every pedestrian.

Simulating 200,000 households in real time

Per-household agents rather than an aggregate demand curve, at city scale, inside a 16ms frame budget.

What came of it

Works with tiered update rates — nearby households tick every frame, distant ones every few seconds. This is the economic core of Retail Empire.

Experimental Tools

A barcode scanner that assumes no signal

Warehouses have concrete walls. Everything had to work fully offline and reconcile later without a merge conflict.

What came of it

Works. Held as a counting engine for a future product; not shipped yet.

Technology Demos

02
Technology DemosActive

Running the simulation core in a browser

The same economic core compiled to WebAssembly, so a playable demo needs no download and no install.

Technology DemosArchived

Branch-to-branch sync with no central server

Peer-to-peer replication so branches could keep trading during an internet outage.

What came of it

Archived. It worked, but reconciling two branches that both sold the last unit is a business decision, not a technical one — and no merge strategy makes that call correctly. Replaced with a local queue and a single source of truth.
